Michelle Edgar

Founder & CEO | The XX Project

As an executive in the entertainment business, over the last 10 years Michelle Edgar has helped artists build out their brands and accelerate their reach having worked across all facets of the business as an agent at ICM Partners to record executive at Warner Bros. Records, Epic Records, and Redlight Management. Her passion for supporting her clients stems from a lifelong love of music, beginning to play the piano at the age of five and growing into a trained concert. She applied that same diligence and focus to her love of sports and discovered her inner athlete on the track. Today, she has achieved her athletic goal as an All-American sprinter at the age of 38. “Just Do It” is her mantra and the way she lives her life.

Her goal when the shutdown happened was to get back on track and connect with her purpose and passion, while challenging herself both mentally and physically. As a woman in business, advancing into leadership roles in corporate America is fraught with hurdles and ceilings. She felt pursuing her law degree focused on entertainment, media and sports at UCLA Law would enable her to strengthen her skillset and further her path in being an unstoppable force in business.

Ten years ago she founded The XX Project to empower women in business, help them source business opportunities build a network and advance in their personal and professional journeys. Twelve years ago she founded Music Unites, a non-profit charity organization supporting music education and works closely in partnership with the Compton Unified School district. This summer, Music Unites is kicking off a summer program with TBWA\Chiat\Day LA “Shaping Today’s Culture” together with the Compton Unified School District offering an Advertising 101 virtual academy 6-week program for GEAR UP-Compton to ignite students creativity.
