Kirk O’Neil
Kirk O’Neil returned to TheStreet in June 2021 as editor-writer and weekend editor, editing and writing breaking news and other articles on public companies, stocks and investments, after a two-year hiatus. Kirk had worked as a reporter on the bankruptcy and restructuring team for TheStreet publication TheDeal. Kirk worked for Euromoney and as West Coast Editor at Bisnow Commercial Real Estate News, before returning to TheStreet. Kirk joined TheStreet in his first stint after the company purchased DealFlow Media where he had spent four years covering corporate bankruptcy and restructuring for the company’s Distressed Debt Report and Turnarounds and Restructurings newsletters. Before joining DealFlow, Kirk worked over 15 years editing and writing commercial real estate news at Crittenden Research. Kirk also spent eight years as editor of weekly community newspapers on the San Francisco Peninsula. Kirk earned his bachelor's degree in government and journalism from Sacramento State University.
